Are you tired of the constant routine of shaving, waxing, and plucking to get rid of unwanted hair? Velanis Clinic in McAllen, Texas, brings you advanced laser hair removal solutions that deliver enduring results. Bid farewell to time-consuming and expensive temporary methods and say hello to long-lasting, hair-free skin.
During a laser hair removal session, our Asclepion MeDioStarยฎ, backed by Astanza, diode laser emits pulses of light energy that penetrate the skin, targeting the melanin within the hair follicle. By heating the follicle and eliminating the hair root, the laser disrupts the hair's nourishment supply, putting a halt to its growth. Once the laser severs the source of nourishment, the follicle stops producing hair.
It's essential to note that laser hair removal is effective only during a specific hair growth stage known as the anagen phase, which is why multiple treatments are necessary for long-lasting hair removal.

Hair undergoes a cycle consisting of three phases: the anagen phase, the catagen phase, and the telogen phase.
Anagen Phase (Active Growth): This is the crucial phase for laser hair removal, as it is the only stage during which the laser is actually effective. The anagen phase occurs when the hair root remains attached to the papilla, making it a target for the laser.
Catagen Phase (Transitional): In this stage, the hair follicle detaches from the papilla, cutting off its nutrient supply.
Telogen Phase (Resting): During this phase, a new anagen hair pushes out a catagen hair, restarting the hair growth cycle.
Because each hair grows at its own pace, it's impossible to target all hairs during the anagen phase. This is why we recommend a minimum of 6 to 12 sessions for each client, depending on specific factors and desired results. Our MeDioStarยฎ laser ensures the fastest, safest, and most effective results for all skin and hair types, including newly tanned skin.

Each client receives information about proper aftercare along with a detailed aftercare instruction sheet to take home after treatment. As you prepare for your laser hair removal treatment, keep a few things in mind:
Avoid excessive sun exposure for at least a week following each treatment. After each laser treatment, clients should apply a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher for ongoing maintenance.
Apply a cold compress or aloe vera to soothe the skin and help prevent side effects after treatment
Avoid hot water or steaming activities that soak the skin for at least 24 to 48 hours following a treatment.
Your hair will naturally begin to thin and shed over the weeks following each treatment.
Gently exfoliate the treatment site with a washcloth to remove the dead hair. Never tug or pluck out hairs that are still connected to the follicle.
Hairs must be attached to the follicle in order to target them during their active growth stage. While shaving and trimming are acceptable methods for removing unwanted hair between treatments, plucking and epilating methods should be avoided at all costs.
If you experience any adverse, unwanted side effects, please contact our McAllen laser hair removal clinic right away.
